Thank you for visiting HelpTi'Are.org. It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that I introduce my close friend and ofttime coworker Ti’Are Obenauer. I first met Ti’Are many years ago on a construction site where her father and I were preparing to build a television tower. Ti’Are and her new husband showed up at the site to work on the foundation installation. I was immediately impressed with her energy, drive and determination to be as good as anyone else on the site. Her skill with the equipment and tools she was assigned to work with was exceptional for a person her age (early twenties).
Since we both worked for the same company we were often assigned to the same projects and over the course of several months of working closely together we became good friends inspite of our difference in age (I was close to the same age as her father). I soon discovered that the same drive and determination that she applied to her work she applied to her personal life. She and her husband wanted a family and were planning to have several children.
Over the course of several years we worked together on a number of projects. I was someone she could depend on for advise and counseling when life was hard or challenging. We often talked of her strong desire for motherhood and her frustration at not being able to conceive. She tried numerous ways to conceive and and spent a small fortune on fertility clinics. Finally in 2004 one of those fertility doctors discovered what was learned to Ovarian cancer.
Being the fighter she is and with the same will and drive my friend has been fighting this disease for over 7 years. All the standard treatments have been exhausted. Her savings has been depleted by medical bills. She now has to rely solely on Medicare and a small disability pension from Social Security. Medicare will only pay a portion of the cost of their approved treatments and most of those are for pain control not any aggressive attempts at a cure.
I have set up this website as a way to “Help Ti’Are” get the money she needs to continue her fight and pursue the aggressive treatments that are being waged outside of the limited and restrictive Medicare system. There are other ways available and I am urging everyone to make a donation through PayPal. All money will go to Ti’Are’s treatments. Every penny will help so donate now regardless of the amount.
Thank you in advance,
Jack Boone, Friend of Ti’Are |
